Professor Charles Chasela is the Chief Scientific Officer at Right to Care. Prof Chasela was involved withe the HCV demonstration project in the Ukraine. He was appointed as research director in the HSRC’s HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB (HAST) research programme and heads the Epidemiology and Strategic Information (ESI) unit at the Human Sciences Research Council in 2014. Charles holds an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD from University College Dublin, Ireland. Before joining the HSRC, Charles was an Associate Professor with the Epidemiology and Biostatics Division, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).
