UNODC Capacitation Report

On Monday, the 14th of August, 19 invited civil society and municipal representatives who sit on Local Drug Action Committees attended a one-day interactive harm reduction capacitation workshop. The delegates then attended Africa Policy Week (APW). Representatives voiced their challenges, heard about alternative responses to drug use, including harm reduction, and thought critically about drug policies, effective interventions, and harm reduction. The meeting was the first part of an ongoing process to establish a network of people who can advocate for and explain harm reduction within the municipal and provincial drug structures.
